The inspiration for this piece comes from Lady Macbeth, a leading character in William Shakespeare’s tragedy “Macbeth”, who urges her husband into committing regicide, after which she becomes queen of Scotland.
Macbeth turns into a murderous tyrant and she is driven to madness by guilt over their crimes.
Ultimately she kills herself.
